The 14th NCB International Seminar was organised by National Council for Cement and Building Materials at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi from December 1-4, 2015. The seminar was inaugurated by Amitabh Kant, secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Mr RK Goswami, organising secretary; Dr Shailendra Chouksey, vice chairman, NCB; Mr Aswini Pahuja, DG, NCB; and Mr Ajay Kapur, Chief Patron of the seminar; were also present.
Ambuja Cement, the chief patron of the seminar, presented 204 technical papers.
Ambuja Cement’sAmbujanagar unit received the Best Environment Excellence award for mining operation for the years 2013-14 and 2014-15. Ambuja Cement’s Darlaghat plant received the award for Best Paper presented at the seminar. Kamal Varinder Singh, Sushil Paneri and Chanchal Kumar from Ambuja Cement were honoured for their paper on ‘Reduction of specific electrical energy consumption in raw mill grinding using systematic approach’. Ambuja Cement’s customer support group (CSG) held a day-long conference to celebrate the successful completion of 200 technical events under the aegis of the Ambuja Knowledge Centre (AKC).
About 175 construction professionals attended the conference on Bicentennial Celebration: High Rise in Mumbai. The event discussed several case studies related to high rise buildings.
