Ambuja CSR arm’s interventions recognised for driving inclusive growth in communities
Ambuja Cement has been conferred with the prestigious ‘ICSI CSR Excellence Award’ as the Best Corporate (Large Category) in recognition of its holistic CSR efforts that transformed lives by empowering rural communities, thus facilitating inclusive economic progress in rural India and contributing to nation-building.
The award was received by the CSR arm Ambuja Cement Foundation’s Head Ms Pearl Tiwari and the Company Secretary Rajiv Gandhi jointly at the glittering award ceremony held in Mumbai recently. The recognition was presented by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) – a statutory professional body which promotes, regulates and develops the profession of company secretaries in India. The Jury was impressed over the multi-pronged CSR initiatives along with the excellent processes, implementation practices and governance.
Ms Tiwari also participated in a panel discussion on ‘Re-energising Business Growth: Road Ahead’, where she laid emphasis on the ‘Responsible Business Culture & Values’.
Ambuja Cement Foundation, which marked its Silver Jubilee year a few months ago, has stepped up its efforts to further strengthen and expand its unique interventions while seeking greater collaborations. It has been going beyond CSR activities and recognised as a grassroots pan-India implementing organisation that harnesses the power of partnerships – between communities, Government and other like-minded corporates and NGOs – to help solve pressing community problems and foster prosperity.
