Our biodiversity policy guides that the Company should work towards achieving a minimum of No Net Loss (NNL) of biodiversity in all operations and at place where critical habitat is present with an ultimate aim to achieve Net Positive Gain (NPG) of biodiversity and continual improvement. The Company is firmly committed to No Net Deforestation, ensuring that its operations do not contribute to any forest loss.
Key Intiatives
The Company has commitment to plant 8.3 million trees by 2030 at consolidated level.
Conducted a comprehensive Nature Risk Assessment including a Biodiversity Risk Assessment using TNFD LEAP approach for all sites.
Formulation of a comprehensive Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) that integrates nature-based solutions and adheres to the IUCN Mitigation Hierarchy.
Formulation of Biodiversity Mitigation Hierarchy to ensure that industrial growth is balanced with ecological integrity and long-term ecosystem resilience.
To minimize ecological disturbance near protected areas, mining and raw material transport activities are restricted to daytime hours.
Overburden material is stored in designated non-mineralized zones and used for mine rehabilitation, in line with approved mine plans.
Engagement with local communities to manage rehabilitated and planted areas and collaborate on biodiversity initiatives in adjacent offset zones.
Company complies with national regulations like the Forest Conservation Act and the CAMPA Act, reinforcing its dedication to environmental stewardship.
