Sustainable Supply Chain
Our supplier Code of Conduct establishes clear ethical and sustainable standards that all suppliers must follow, ensuring a responsible and transparent supply chain grounded in integrity and accountability. It requires suppliers to abide by all relevant laws and regulations, including labor, environmental, health and safety, and anti-corruption laws, to promote lawful and ethical conduct. Environmentally, suppliers are encouraged to reduce waste, emissions, and resource consumption by adopting sustainable practices. The code also insists on ensuring safe and healthy working conditions by following occupational health and safety standards, working proactively to reduce workplace risks.
Green Logistics: We are making major investments to turn our logistics operations Green through the following initiatives:
- Strengthening marine logistics footprint by having 10 captive Bulk Cement Terminals, seven port-based grinding units, and 11 captive vessels complemented by seven new ships on order with a combined capacity of over 65,000 DWT.
- Investments into rail logistics to increase the number of dedicated BCFC rakes to 60, out of which 26 have been ordered and 6 already inducted. The company has added 11 GPWIS rakes to stabilise clinker supply.
- Setting a target to reduce lead distance by 100 km by using AI to optimise routes.
- Use of EVs in operations as another initiative; the company has introduced EV dumpers, EV loaders, and EV bikes in its operations.
