To us Sustainability is ‘giving back more than what we take from our planet or society’ and to act in a way, to conserve environment. Our Sustainability Report presents a transparent and voluntary disclosure of the Triple Bottom Line performance of the Company.
We have committed ourselves for a number of concrete actions to improve our performance on both the social and environmental fronts and I am happy to share that with this approach, we ensure a varied and holistic perspective the way we manage our operations. Right from mining to production to sales and distribution, across our all our units and disciplines, we have been adopting best practices and working constantly to demonstrate our commitment towards sustainability through our actions. That commitment is reflected in strict adherence to our Environment, Sustainability, OH&S, CSR, Climate Change Mitigation and other Policies. In spite of continued tough market conditions, the Company managed to achieve the highest ever sales, in terms of volume and value, with sales growth of 13.8 % by value. This was made possible by the dedication of our workforce, superior product quality and trust of our customers to the brand Ambuja Cement.	Safety first, our focus for safety remains at the highest level. We are committed to strive for “Zero Harm” to people. In 2012, total 17 blocks were assessed green and 2 blocks yellow in our OH&S Pyramid. Management of environment beyond compliance has been our tradition. In 2012, we utilized over 5 million tones fly ash in cement manufacturing which made us to achieve over 92% PPC production of our overall cement production. Apart from that have also improved our thermal substitution rate (TSR) from 0.59 in 2011.
